Unfortunately one of the 7 LN dewars that house the World
Phytophthora Collection has lost its vacuum and it is very difficult
and costly to maintain its Liquid Nitrogen level. It is is virtually
like using a large metal trash can!!!

I will be purchasing a new very large automated system later this
year into which we will transfer the key isolates into the
collection. However this is an operation that will take 3 years.

I am looking for a used 10K Taylor Warton LN Dewar and estimate if
available I can probably purchase it for about $10,000 including the
cost of shipment.

Please can you spread the word that I need donations to cover these
costs. They should be made out to UC REGENTS and can include a letter
